On Saturday, July 11th, I was able to be a part of something very special. I had the privilege of photographing the marriage of my new friends, Lindsey and Joshua.
The first line on their invitation read, “boy met girl” and honestly that’s how it all began. Lindsey and Joshua met through a good friend, Janel (who was also the honored guest to walk Lindsey down the aisle). It was St. Patrick’s Day 2005….Lindsey and Joshua were both pretty shy in the beginning but as the months went by they soon became inseparable.
Lindsey and Joshua have fun no matter what they are doing, as long as they are together; whether it be cooking in the kitchen or watching hockey and soccer together. Joshua said his favorite thing about Lindsey is how loving, tender and compassionate she is. "She always takes time to send someone a card, whether it be for a special occasion or just to say hi to tell someone how much they mean to her. Lindsey always finds the time to write a card." [I can attest to that because I got teary eyed as she handed me a card on her wedding day - seriously, how sweet is she?!!!]. Joshua also loves the art work she has done with her tattoos; her personality is truly showcased in each individual piece.
In November 2007, on a private island in Jamaica, Joshua took Lindsey for a walk along the beach and with the ocean waves splashing and the sand beneath their feet, Joshua paused, grabbed Lindsey’s hand and said, “I’ve got something to ask you.” then ever so carefully he pulled the ring box out of his pocket….tears splashed down Lindsey’s face and she caught her breath just barely enough to reply, “Yes!”
Lindsey and Joshua are best friends – they are now married and will have many more lasting memories ahead. Below are a few of the special moments I captured from their beautiful wedding day.
Their spectacular outdoor ceremony took place at Hastings Lake Garden, just east of Sherwood Park. We hit downtown for the photos and then made our way to the reception which was held at the Courtyard by Marriott.
Every detail was covered and the day had arrived for Lindsey and Joshua to celebrate their love, enjoy their friends and family, and of course their delicious personalized cupcakes!
Congrats you two – love ya!

Ready......Set........GO!!!
This Saturday marks the first of FIVE weekends in a row of back-to-back-to-back-to-back weddings.
Oh and in the middle of all that I'm also planning to be away in California for three days to attend a photography workshop and I'm buiding a garage, doing landscaping on our house and will be EDITING photos like a mad woman!!! I'm really excited - I've met with all my couples multiple times and we've got the details all worked out. I've got great Assistants lined up for every wedding and I'm really excited to see how everything comes together. Each couple, each wedding is so unique....and that's what makes my job so interesting and that's why I love it so much. Plus it's a total bonus to be a part of the HAPPIEST day in these couple's lives. Each couple has become dear friends to me and I love ya 'all (you know it)!
And as a treat to myself I turned away any weddings for the last weekend in August, because it's the TEN YEAR anniversary for my husband and I! Time has really flown by and we are planning a special get-away. (I love you honey!)
I'll be back in action in September with tons of family photo sessions, more weddings and we are even having our own family photos taken, which is a real treat to be on the other side of the camera.
So........ stay tuned, there will be TONS of blog updates as I work my way through the files.
And I have a big announcement....more details coming soon, but in the meantime I'll leave you with this hint ...

I've been anxiously waiting to post these pictures from Lindsey's bridal photo shoot, but couldn't because her dress, her makeup, her hair, her shoes were all top secret until the wedding day. Well on July 11th Lindsey & Joshua got married and the world got to see this gorgeous couple...and I knew that on July 12th I officially received the "green light "to post some of these stunning pictures of Lindsey from her bridal photo shoot which took place at the end of May. YIPEE!!!
Lindsey brought three of her girlfriends along for the shoot and we had a blast! Thanks so much Janel, Alex and Liana, it was so great getting to know you as well. We went to the industrial section of Edmonton for these photos and found amazing textures and dynamic light.
In addition to the exciting photo shoot we also had a few extra activities on the side lines happening...I brought along my husband to assist and a videographer (hey Vince!) who was filming a Behind the Scenes video I'm making for my new website. It definitely added a different element to the photo shoot, but the girls did great and we all kind of felt like movie stars that day with every step being filmed! (video will be launched soon!)
Below are a few of my absolute favorite photos from Lindsey's bridal photo shoot...photos from Lindsey & Joshua's wedding are coming soon. I promise!
Lindsey was laughing so hard when she looked across the parking lot and saw her girls had climbed up into the bus! But her and I weren't too far behind....
And check out Lindsey's second pair of shoes. A special ebay find. Love em!

First their was Hayden, then there was Shamus, and now Marlene and Martin are happy to welcome their beautiful baby girl, Britta to the world.
This is Britta at 3 weeks old, still young enough to capture that newborn look, but old enough to show her little personality (LOL)!!
I had the privilege of photographing this family last year; and I was so excited when I got a call from them for another family session...
Here are a few photos from our photo shoot together. And a big thanks to my friend Terri-Lynn for joining me at the shoot; she is starting up her own photography business soon and wanted to come job-shadow me. It was fun working together and she got some great pictures too (her website is still under construction, but I'll post a link once it's live).
Congratulations Marlene and Martin; you have a lovely family.
Enjoy your sneak peek.

Congratulations Chris and Terri! Earlier this month I had the honour of photographing Chris and Terri's wedding here in Edmonton, Alberta. You may remember them from the engagement session we did in the SNOW (they were such good sports for trusting me with an outdoor shoot in the winter)!
Their wedding day started with some gorgeous detailed shots of Terri's dress, shoes and stunning jewelry...
Then of to church....I arrived a few minutes early and captured some fantastic detailed shots of this brand new church...it was peaceful and calm inside and yet you could feel the excitement building in the air. Terri was in the back room touching up make-up one last time and Chris was at the entrance welcoming friends and family...
..and then...finally.....the MOMENT had come!
Terri was breath-taking and her walk down the aisle seemed to take place in slow motion; her dress was sparkling, her face was beaming and Chris was in awww as he watched his bride, his love, his best friend, as she walked towards him. These two are in love and their day had finally come to say "I do".
I had a blast with their wedding party too, infact, it was through Terri's maid of honour, Celena, and Chris's best man, Craig, that I met Terri and Chris, as I photographed THEIR WEDDING last year. (A shout out to Celena and Craig, you're the best!). Terri and Chris had picked out a quiet peaceful location in Rundle Park for their photos, and we couldn't have asked for better weather!
And always unique and creative, Terri and Chris danced their first song to friends singing a live performance of a Keith Urban song. The room was packed as everyone lined the dance floor to see this special moment between husband and wife!
And check out their unique wedding cake topper; Terri loves fishing, so this fit perfectly in to the personalized details of the reception!
PS: Thanks Terri and Chris for the party favor, I love the spice and am putting it on everything, even my midnight snacks (lol)!

I had the opportunity to meet up with Darilynn for her bridal photo session not long ago (you may recall her from her wedding photos and engagement photos, posted previously) The laughter started from the minute we said "hello" to the minute we said "good-bye". Darilynn is so sweet, sweet like candy and she's gorgeous too! These are some of my favorite photos from our session together. Thanks for the great times!!!

My hair was done'ish, I loved my make-up and I even wore heels.... Grandma came to the rescue (again) and picked up our sweet girl for a sleepover at her place (thanks Mom!).....yes, it was a night out for my husband and I.....which doesn't come very often when you have a two-year old child, when you have a husband that has insane deadlines with his classes and is writing a thesis and when I'm about 10+ photo shoots behind in blogging and editing....but we did it anyways.
Of course we had planned on a relaxing dinner first and then casually making our way to the River Cree Casino to see Shane Yellowbird, but instead we worked on our own separate projects (I was editing photos and Sean was talking all constructiony'ish with the guy building our garage) until it was about 45 minutes past the time we were supposed to be leaving....
But we were determined to still make it a nice night!! Yes, we were DETERMINED !!!!! So, two subway wraps and a bottle of oj later we were on our way (not the romantic wine and candles I was secretly hoping for, but we did share the juice with two straws if that counts for anything)....we both took a deep breath (after we ran across the parking lot) and said to eachother, "okay, let's get focused, we are here for a nice night out, so let's just relax and enjoy!" I then followed by saying, "I don't want to talk business during the concert okay?", and my husband said, "Well it will probably be too loud anyways."....sad thing is we did chat a bit about business, we talked about our weekly schedules, we also talked about how excited we are that our garage is almost done....we've only waited for 3 years...so it's about time. And we also talked about how nice it was to have a night out with each other and how we should take time to do this more often.
The Shane Yellowbird concert was amazing and this was the first time I'd been to a concert at the River Cree Casino. I loved The Venue and hope to come back for many many more. We were looking at the list of future performers and already penciled a few more shows in to our day planners...NOTE: We used "pencil" and that's because basically every future show sounds good, so we'll have to pick our top two, I think.
After the concert was done we made our way to the lounge for a cold beer and just relaxed on their ultra mod red leather couches...and to our surprise Shane Yellowbird came out to have a drink too. Because Shane is from Hobbema, Alberta alot of his friends and family were in the audience, so he was joining them for a few drinks. Well some of Shane's friends are also my husband's friends and next thing you know I am shaking hands with Mr. Shane Yellowbird...and of course, this followed by a quick photo on my iphone (yipee)...
Oh yea, and please forget that I mentioned my hair was "done" it looks wild in this photo, I'll blame the wind running through the parking lot, the loud speakers and a bit of humidity....yikes!
Here's a few iphone quality photos that I'd like to share with you. It was a great concert and I'm a big fan of supporting local artists!!! And he's such a nice guy, so down to earth and a great entertainer. If you have an opportunity to see him live, I highly recommend Shane Yellowbird's show. And the best part is that we had seats in row 4!!

You may recognize this baby girl...but most likely not, I sure didn't (LOL)! I photographed Ryann as a newborn back in November and was so excited when I received an inquiry from Ryann's mom, Shawna, to book a 6-month photo shoot with me. I couldn't wait to see how much Ryann had grown, and when I met them at the coffee shop I couldn't help but stare.... I just couldn't get over how much Ryann had changed...I mean, I knew she would, but still...it felt like yesterday I was at their beautiful acreage home with my blankets and camera trying to get that perfect newborn "curl" picture...honestly, time flies way tooooo fast!
Shawna and Chris looked great (and well rested, lol!) and brought the most adorable outfits for Ryann's photo shoot. We enjoyed the beautiful evening air as we made our way to some amazing locations.
Oh, Shawna and Chris, your girl is stunning - her eyes captivate me every time I look at these photos. You are a beautiful family and it was SO NICE seeing you again!!!!

This is Keirson, beautiful, soft, sweet and loooooooved by her parents, Kristen and Al. Al was a student of my husbands a few years ago and over the years they've kept in touch...well, exciting news came about three months ago when text messages were flying as Al announced to the world that his baby girl had entered the world. I immediately offered to do a photo session for this family and was beyond thrilled when they accepted. Just a few weeks ago I had the privilege of meeting baby Kerison; and oh man is she cute!! She also has the best wardrobe I've ever seen and hair that is to die for.
Thank you so much for the lovely morning Al, Kristen and Keirson - enjoy your photos!
